Did you know that ‘organic’ is a protected term? Without the proper certification, the term organic may not be used.
Organic cultivation offers a sustainable alternative to the challenges we face at nation-wide and provincial level in areas such as biodiversity, clean water and soil fertility. Consumer interest in and demand for organic plants and flowers is increasing, which can partly be attributed to the fact that consumers have a clear preference for imposing restriction on the use of pesticides. In fact, consumer demand for these products often exceeds the supply!

In our sector, we have noticed that the supply of organic plants and flowers is still limited, and this is reflected in the quantities supplied by organic farms, as well as the amount of land allocated to the production of organic floriculture products. The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture published a report in February 2022 with statistics of the international organic agriculture from 2020.
