After the pitches, footprint scenarios of three products were presented, showing how big the footprint was in previous years, what the companies had done to reduce it, and opportunities to reduce the footprint even more.
There were also two presentations, one by Koen Druijf, CSR Officer, and one by Sanne Bruil of VBW (Vereniging Bloemisten Winkeliers). In his presentation, Koen Druijf shared insights on CSRD legislation and FM Group's sustainability policy. Koen stressed the importance of collecting data and understanding the specific needs of the business to promote sustainability. The biggest challenge lies in engaging stakeholders, such as growers and customers, and Koen encourages setting realistic targets. Transparency and sharing of product information are becoming increasingly important in the industry. The whole industry is needed to become more sustainable!
Sanne Bruil of VBW presented the preliminary results of a survey on sustainability conducted among florists.
It was a very interesting and inspiring afternoon.
