CSR visiting Horti Footprint Circle meeting

On Tuesday 10 October, the CSR team attended Greenhouse Sustainability's Horti Footprint Circle meeting, held at Lensli Substrates. The meeting focused on collaboration in the chain to reduce the footprint. For example, pitches were given by companies Royal Brinkman/Drygair and Chrysal, on how their products can reduce the company and/or product footprint.

Sustainability at orchid nursery Stolk Flora

In June, we, Koen and Dionne, had the honour of paying a working visit to this unique nursery in Bleiswijk at the invitation of Koen van Koppen, of orchid nursery Stolk Flora. Thanks to the dedication of Director-owner Jan Stolk and Director Koen van Koppen, Stolk Flora is one of the most sustainable Phalaenopsis nurseries in the Netherlands. During our visit, Koen enthusiastically told us about the steps they have taken to achieve this.

'Certification for plant breeders'!

On 15 June 2023, together with the sustainability accelerator group, we organised an inspiring meeting called 'Certification for plant breeders'. The event took place at the beautiful premises of Waterdrinker Aalsmeer. During this meeting, floriculture growers from the Netherlands and Belgium received information on the road to FSI-compliant certification.

Sustainability in the coir industry

In early May, FM Group CSR Officers Koen and Dionne attended a meeting of substrate knowledge center RHP. The aim of the meeting was to gather input, expertise and views from a broad group of stakeholders on the responsible production of coir and how this could be demonstrated through certification. The focus here was on establishing the right definition of responsible production and naming relevant sustainability issues in the coconut production chain.
