4-Bulk, the packaging procurement business of FM Group and Floral Trade Group, is going to make the environmental impact of packaging items transparent using the 4-Bulk Packaging Tool.
This tool was created in collaboration with Greenhouse Sustainability and allows each item to be given a footprint. Greenhouse Sustainability was chosen because they lead the way in ornamental horticulture in calculations that align with the upcoming European FloriPEF calculation rules.
The footprints of suppliers can also be included in the tool so that we have an even more realistic picture of the environmental impact of our products. From the 4-Bulk joint venture, cooperation partners/suppliers are encouraged to measure their footprint as well. The footprint of a package is added to the Flori Footprint Tool. This addition will soon make it possible to make the total footprint of each product, including packaging, transparent.
