Wondering what a Fairtrade flower farm in Kenya looks like?

Take a tour through the Wildfire Flower farm located in Naivasha, Kenya. The farm was established in the year 2000 on 45 ha of land and hires 620 permanent staff with 55% being women.The flower farm exports to 10 countries including the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

The tour will give you an aerial view of the flower farm and gives you a look into the farm’s operational areas: the green house and the cool- and pack house. The Fairtrade Environmental Standards are shown by guiding you through the farm’s sustainability activities such as the conversion to hydroponic technology to grow flowers, water harvesting, solar energy use and composting of flower foliage.

During the tour you will also see Fairtrade Hired Labour Standards applied to the staff working conditions, use of protective gear gender representation and staff facilities.
