Green gold: KAS2030 leads the way to sustainable horticulture

The Dutch floriculture sector needs to reduce the use of natural gas towards zero. As part of the GREENHOUSE2030 project, Wageningen University & Research (WUR), together with Glastuinbouw Nederland is doing research on fossil free and emission free cultivation.

A demonstration greenhouse has been opened in Bleiswijk (The Netherlands). In this greenhouse four crops (strawberry, gerbera, freesia and pot Anthurium) are cultivated to explore the possibilities and challenges associated with fossil free and emission free cultivation.
