Lovely Astilbe reuses heat from cold storage

Each grower tries to produce sustainably in its own way. For example, Lovely Astilbe has found a way to reuse heat at the nursery.

Before the bulbs are planted, they are brought to temperature in the cold store. This process releases a lot of heat. 'We can do something with that,' thought Marc and Frank Rutgrink of Lovely Astilbe. They installed a heat exchanger on the refrigeration plant, which stores and reuses the heat. 'Our own heating hardly ever runs!'

Meanwhile, 500 solar panels are also already on the roof. As a result, they generate 50% of the energy they need themselves. And the entire crop is lit by LED lights. Pretty impressive for such a delicate little flower right?
