Tuesday 01 August 2023

According to account manager John Frederiks of Griffioen Wassenaar, the demand for a more sustainable range of plants in garden centres has increased significantly over the past two years. The hallmark On the way to PlanetProof is gaining prominence and is increasingly appreciated by garden centres.

Griffioen is a certified grower that produces six million perennials a year for public green spaces and garden centres. With the certified consumer concept 'Hello Garden', they have created a unique position in garden centres.

Consumers are informed about On the way to PlanetProof through various means, such as photo labels and shelf banners. Griffioen's On the way to PlanetProof perennials are available at large garden centre chains and specific outlets, making 85% of Dutch garden centres offer the more sustainable plants.

Griffioen Wassenaar works with Tuinbranche Nederland and is involved in the Groene Klimaatplein, which focuses on promoting biodiversity and tackling water and heat stress in gardens.
