The 'Circle of Life' reminds us that everything is interconnected and can work together harmoniously. Every living being -large or small- has an essential role in the circle of life. Through mutual respect and acceptance of our position within nature, we can create a world where nature runs its course freely. Where nature thrives.
Within the world of flowers and plants, standards of perfection have developed over time. Large flowers, dead straight branches, minimum weight or maximum height. These are some examples that serve as guidelines for trade. For flowers and plants to meet these standards, intervention in the growing process is sometimes necessary. In extreme cases, this sometimes requires chemicals. And that disrupts the aforementioned 'Circle of Life'. If you ask us, it is time for change.
What if we did things differently?
What if we prefer a natural product to a perfect product? What if we adjust standards to the current zeitgeist? Of course, our growers strive for top quality, but during the growing process, sometimes a small beauty flaw here or there arises. A speck on the leaf, a twist in the branch or a fallen flower bud. But isn't nature at its most beautiful when it goes its own way? Shouldn't we embrace nature more? For the sake of the world and our future generations.
Setting the new standard together
This shift challenges us to think creatively, step out of our comfort zone and move towards a sustainable approach. An approach towards a natural product, with minimal CO2 emissions and minimal packaging materials. We - FM Group, Zentoo and The Orchid Growers - like to engage in a conversation about the product of the future. Together, we can determine what is acceptable and what is needed to embrace a natural product.
To find out what the product of the future is, we need your opinion. Help the floriculture industry and answer the following questions.
