The power of the sun
Lamboo Dried & Deco, a company specialising in dried flowers and natural decorative products, has decided to package its dried flowers from this summer in paper partly made from their own residual waste. This paper, called "Dried Flower Based Paper", is being introduced as a sustainable packaging solution.
Lamboo values sustainability and dried flowers are already an environmentally friendly choice by nature because of their longevity in a vase. The company is now committed to making its production process even more sustainable.
Besides using Dried Flower Based Paper for the packaging, the closing stickers are also made from the same material. Consumers can easily recycle both the paper and the sticker with waste paper, making the packaging circular. Lamboo has already taken several measures to promote sustainability, both within the company itself and throughout the supply chain.
From mid-August, the first bunches of dried flowers will be packed in the new paper and sealed with the new stickers. Jan Lamboo, the owner and director of Lamboo Dried & Deco, emphasises the special aspect of incorporating their own dried flower waste into the packaging.
He explains that the paper has a natural colour obtained by combining residual waste with FSC-certified cellulose derived from trees from the Ardennes. The paper even contains small pieces of flower and stem. The stickers are also made from dried flower waste, combined with post-consumer recycled paper and the same FSC-certified cellulose. Both are printed with eco-friendly ink in Lamboo's corporate colour, providing a subtle link to their corporate branding.
Lamboo Dried & Deco has been operating in the Netherlands for more than 40 years, mastering the entire process from seed selection to designing and producing collections of dried flowers. Quality, craftsmanship and sustainability are central to their operations.
